From 07:45 AM, May 7th, 2008, the public in Guangzhou will witness the exciting Olympic Torch Relay along the 40.82-kilometer route covering 5 districts of Baiyun, Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, and Tianhe.

Baiyun International Convention Center – Western Entrance of Baiyun Mountain (northern outskirts) 08:00~08:45
Southern Entrance of Baiyun Mountain – Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (northern outskirts to central downtown) 10:50~12:00
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall – Chen Clan Academy (Central to western downtown) 13:30~14:30
Chen Clan Academy – Haizhu Bridge (western to central downtown) 14:30~15:30
Haizhu Bridge – Yizhou Rd. (southern downtown) 15:40~16:30
Yizhou Rd. - Tianhe Sport Center (southern to eastern downtown) 16:40~18:00
Highlight: The celebration of 'One World One Dream' will push the event to the climax at the terminal of the relay, Tianhe Sports Center, at 17:45.
The Celebrities to Run
The 208 torchbearers feature many sports stars and showbiz celebrities, such as:
Yang Jinghui, the first torchbearer, was a Cantonese gold medalist of men’s 10-meter platform double in 2004 Athens Olympics, will be.
Dong Zhaozhi, the last torchbearer, was a Cantonese fencer winning world titles for 7 times and attending 3 Olympics with a silver medal.
Guangzhou Traffic Control for Olympic Torch Relay
Traffic Control for Roads: Vehicles are not permitted to stop;
Metro: Only entries will be allowed, not exits, at some MTR stations where the relay route covers;
Ferry: All the liners will be closed in the river section between Haizhu Bridge and Guangzhou Bridge in Guangzhou on 14:00 – 18:00 on May 7.
