Folk Items, a New Appeal to China Market

In the Exhibition Venue of last Canton Fair, High-tech products maybe the spotlight at the import zone, but the special folk commodities have become a new appeal to the visiting crowd.

Tangka scrolls from Nepal, ebony sculptures from Tanzania, and coffee beans from Yemen, for instance, have drawn the eyeballs of visitors at the Canton Fair, officially called China Import and Export Fair (CIEF). Folk featured items are beloved ones of China market.

Two Nepalese companies that are displaying Tangka, a kind of tapestry woven with gold or silk, at the import zone of the Pazhou Complex expressed optimism about their featured products on the Chinese market. "The Canton fair is now opening the door of the Chinese market by showcasing our products here," said a staff member of the Tanzanian Embassy in China.

Tanzanian ebony sculptures are widely appreciated by buyers across the world. And also the Yemen-based Al Kbous Group, one of the Middle East's major coffee producers, "benefited a lot" from the fair.
