SpiceJet Ltd, India's most popular low cost airline, is pleased to announce its entry into China with the launch of services between Guangzhou and New Delhi.
The airline is connecting Guangzhou with the Indian capital of Delhi at an introductory fare of RMB 999 (INR 8,888). The round-trip tickets are about RMB 2000 with tax. It is deploying a 189-seater Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft on this route.
SpiceJet will fly the Guangzhou-Delhi route four days a week at convenient timings. Commercial flights on this route will commence from February 8, 2013. Booking of tickets for flights of these routes are open and the debut flights have been fully booked.
"Guangzhou marks our debut into the Chinese sky. We are offering the air connectivity at very affordable fares to the passengers from India and China. The service also reiterates growing economic interest between two of the world's largest economies," said SpiceJet Chief Executive Officer Mr. Neil Mills.
"SpiceJet has been expanding its network in India as well as its international routes. Guangzhou is also a part of our network expansion," he added.
With the addition of Guangzhou to its route network, SpiceJet now flies to seven international destinations from India. SpiceJet already operates to Kathmandu (Nepal), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Kabul (Afghanistan), Dubai (UAE), Male (Maldives) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
November to March are the best months for India's tourism. It is expected the route will also improve trade between Guangdong and India.
