The Government of China has appointed Orbitz Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, the exhibition arm of Orbitz Corporate & Leisure Travels (I) Pvt Ltd to promote the country's biannual Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair). As per the alliance, the company will be focusing on marketing Canton Fair to trade companies in India. To be held in Guangzhou, the 113th edition of 2013 Canton Fair will take place in three phases from April 15-19, April 23-27 and May 1-5.

The trade fair, organised in April and October every year is targeted at industrialists and attracts participants from more than 200 countries. “India is an economy no one can ignore, being an integral BRIC nation, definitely the Government of China aims to showcase its businesses and get into strategic promotion of their commerce and industry to the Indian businessmen. Looking at Orbitz's strength in this area - this is a win-win situation for both,” said Rupen Vikamsey, Managing Director – Orbitz. “At present we are only promoting the fair in the domestic market but we are is discussion with the Government of China to also promote it in international market as well,” he added.

Currently, the company promotes 300 trade fairs in China across diversified industries, besides it also provides over 500 business trade fair tours worldwide. Orbitz also provides factory visits, business exploration tours and bilateral trade associations meetings. Apart from representing Cantor Fair the company also represents many trade fairs from across the world as official travel partners in India.
