The 113th Canton Fair exhibitors have become more optimistic about China's foreign trade. According to Zhao Wei, manager of an electronic product exporter in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, the company's exports in the first quarter this year is evidently better than that of last year on a year-on-year basis - lighting products alone have increased by 15 percent.
He added that emerging markets like the Middle East have had a much better growth; the markets in Europe and the U. S. are not very good yet, but are estimated to begin recovering in the second half of the year.
In the last session of Canton Fair, due to the global economic downturn, the number of buyers was down 10 percent, and the total turnover down 9.3 percent.
Industrial chambers also felt the atmosphere of recovery this year. According to the official statistics of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronic Products, the year-on-year growth of China's exports of these products is faster this year – to Asia 30.7 percent, to North America 12.6 percent, to Europe 5 percent.
The chamber conducted a survey with many of its members. The results showed that they estimated a growth of 5 percent on the number of orders this year compared to the year before.
