The second phase of the 113th Canton Fair concluded yesterday (April 27), with a rising number of participants and turnover.
Up to April 25, the turnover of the 113th session saw an increase of 3.9 percent than the previous session, but still 4 percent less than the 111th session.
Statistics from the fair's organizer show that, as of April 26, a total of 161,000 participants have signed into the fair, 8.8 percent higher than the last session.
Participants from Europe decreased 4 percent to 28,000, that from the U.S.A was 8326, while the participants from Latin America rose 27.4 percent to 14,000.
Affected by the market demand and rising material costs, commodity industry saw a gradually decrease in gross profit. Many Guangdong export enterprises in the fair coped with challenges by developing new products and added value of products.
