A conference held last Friday at the Corinthia Hotel in Attard saw the 111th session of the Canton Fair promoted to Maltese businessmen. This was of interest to potential importers of Chinese goods as well as those who would want to break into the Chinese market. Wan Runsheng, deputy director general of China Foreign Trade Centre, described it as a win-win situation. He explained this further both in his speech at the fair and in an interview to Noel Grima.

The China Import and Export Fair, also renowned as Canton Fair, is a quality platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and other parts of the world, an efficient channel to explore the vast Chinese market, an excellent choice for sourcing quality Chinese products.

The 110th session of the Canton Fair attracted 20,9175 buyers from 210 countries and regions, an increased of 1% over the 109th session. Its export transaction volume reached $37.9bn, up by 3% over the previous session. Among them, there were 65 buyers from the Malta, with a business turnover of about $14.8m.
