Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, which inaugurated commercial flights on
August 5th 2004, is one of the three major civilian airports in China. Today,
it hosts over 30 airlines worldwide, operating a total of more than 110 flights
to over 100 cities at home and abroad.
Located in the north of Guangzhou, neighboring Huadu District and Renhe Town,
the airport is 28 kilometers distant from Haizhu Square, the geographic center
of Guangzhou. Using specially constructed expressways, passengers from
Guangzhou or neighboring cities can arrive at the airport conveniently.
Departing passengers are not allowed to check in as late as 45 minutes before
the plane takes off, and please get to the airport well ahead of time.
Situated on Huanshi Xi Lu in the northwest of Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Railway
Station is convenient by bus or subway. Trains from this station serve big and
mid-sized cities all over China.
Guangzhou East Railway Station, located in Tianhe District, serves railway
routes such as Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Guangzhou-Kowloon (Hong Kong) and
Guangzhou-Shantou. Additionally, the station has trains running along
Beijing-Kowloon railway that crosses the eastern part of China.
Guangzhou also connects to the Beijing-Guangzhou railway line running from
Beijing West Railway Station in the north of China to Shenzhen in the south,
and continuing on to Kowloon in Hong Kong. Besides stops at Beijing and
Tianjin, there are another 96 cities in six provinces served including Hebei,
Shangdong, Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Jiangxi and Guangdong. In Guangdong Province,
another two railways, Guangzhou-Maoming and Guangzhou-Meizhou-Shantou, join the
line. Additionally, passengers can get from Guangzhou to Lhasa, capital of
Tibet Autonomous Region and Sanya, a tourist city in Hainan Province using
these train lines.
Every 15 to 30 minutes, a train leaves Guangzhou Railway Station or Guangzhou
East Railway Station for Shenzhen. Ticket prices vary (averaging about RMB 70)
and are available for different types of trains and it takes about one to
one-and-a-half-hours to cover the distance between GZ and Shenzhen depending on
the type of train chosen.
Passengers can buy tickets at the railway station or at ticket offices
throughout Guangzhou. Tickets are also available by phone (95105105 and
96020088), and passengers can book tickets for trains departing from Guangzhou
Railway Station, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou North Railway
Station and Foshan Railway Station within four to six days in advance of the
desired departure.

The 185 Postal Service Hotline for Tickets: By dialing 185, you can book train
tickets and enjoy door-to-door delivery of tickets. Besides the ticket price,
the service fee is RMB 5 per ticket. An additional RMB10 per address is needed
for delivery of tickets within the urban area.
Road transportation services in Guangzhou have been greatly improved in recent
years. Through a wide-reaching network, passengers can buy tickets for any of
the 15 passenger stations in Guangzhou and those in Panyu, Huadu, Conghua and
Zencheng. Many intercity expressways have been built with long-distance buses
serving various destination within and outside of Guangdong Province.
The Special tourist route to Disneyland in Hong Kong: It is Guangdong's first
tourist route and departs from the bus station located at Aether Square (Yitai
Guangchang) on Jiefang Bei Lu, where tourists can depart for Hong Kong
Disneyland directly.
Ferry terminals situated in the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development
Zone, Zhoutouju, Zencheng, Panyu and Nansha operate direct passenger liner
services to Hong Kong. Passenger liners at Dashatou Wharf and Xidi Wharf serve
other destinations.
