European Trade Centre Holding Seminar in Guangzhou

On Friday, July 11, the Tianjin European Trade Center held an informative seminar to attract potential investors and businesses to the project.

European SMEs importing or wishing to import products “Made in Europe” into China were invited to attend the seminar about the European Trade Centre(ETC)

ETC, with an area of 430,000 m² and located in the Binhai New Area in Tianjin, aims at helping European SMEs penetrate the Chinese market or expand their business if they are already established in China.

ETC aims to introduce excellent brands of small and medium-sized enterprises from Europe into China, offering the mid- and high-end products suitable for Chinese middle class consumers.

With the policy support of Tianjin Airport Economic Zone, including a display of bonded goods and convenient customs clearance, ETC will create a brand new business model that combines the European commodities trade and a low-tax shopping experience.

As a center for products “made in Europe”, ETC is both a platform, as well a bridge for those European brands which want to come to China.

ETC boasts its unique location and an abundant guest source. Tianjin, the international coastal city near the Capital Beijing, is in the economic heart of Northern China. Furthermore, the Airport Economic Zone is the only Airport Free Trade Zone in China, taking the advantage of both the airport and harbor. As for guest sources, ETC has a huge potential source market of more than 100 million citizens in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province, and also a population base of more than 200 million consumers in the Bohai coastal region.

TC offers European SMEs logistic support, government benefits and financial assistance, hence giving them a chance to develop their business in China. European SMEs have the opportunity to sell their products directly to ETC, establish a joint venture with ETC, or set up their own retail / wholesale operation at ETC. Target sectors include food and beverage, fashion, handicrafts, furniture and home ware. SMEs providing a “European lifestyle” service are also welcome to ETC (restaurants, bars, leisure, education and culture).

Following the informative presentation delivered by Mr. Ling Chaoxiang, CEO of the European Trade Centre, participants had the opportunity to showcase their products and services at B2B desks to the ETC purchasing and leasing team. Attendees were therefore encouraged to bring along some information and if they wished, some samples.
