The promotion conference of Canton Fair 2012 (112th) was held in Manhattan, New York on August 14. The hosts of the conference are Economic& Commercial Office of Consulate General of China in New York and China Foreign Trade Center (CFTC) with China General Chamber of Commerce - United States of America (CGCCUSA) undertaking. Attendees come to a total of nearly 200, including representatives from China’s Ministry of Commerce and members of business circles in New York.

During the conference representatives from CFTC delivered some information of the upcoming Canton Fair 2012 (112th), which is going to be held on October 15 to November 4, 2012 as usual. Mr. Xu Bing, Deputy Director of CFTC remarked that more measures are to be employed to accelerate the transformation to service trade from goods trade in Canton Fair. Besides, Chinese exhibitors expect keenly more advanced products and technology from overseas manufacturers.

With regard to American buyers, over 70 fashion designers from New York State are to attend the Canton Fair this fall in search of good manufacturers in China. Mr. Mark Jaffe, President of General Chamber of Commerce of Greater New York Area, promised that the Chamber would do help to American companies who have planned to exhibit at the Canton Fair.
