At the Flower City Square across which the new city axle wire goes, we can’t help having our eyes wide open for the silhouettes of the state-of-the-art skyscrapers (including Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou library, West Tower, Children’s Palace and Haixinsha Park of Asian Games). Don’t stop, just keep the eyes and body being lifted up till the summit of the 600-meter-high Canton Tower. Below is the breath-taking panorama of Guangzhou city.
Instead of the earlier overland route, we will spend the second half day after lunch travelling as the river directs. In New Litchi Bay we seem to flow back to the old day when the magnificent Xiguan-style mansions lined onshore, home-made snacks gave off flavor, painted boats stirred crystal-clear splash, lanterns and lamps glittered, exquisite above-the-river theater spread amazing opera melody…The most wonderful comes under the night color. Go cruising down the sparking Pearl River to explore the mother river depending on which the city rises up.
